Relatives Visa South Africa
A relatives visa is a two-year visa intended for members of the immediate family of a permanent resident or citizen. The South African permanent resident or citizen must be able to provide proof of financial support for the applicant in an amount which varies – but is currently set at R8 500 per month, proven by three month’s original bank statements.
A relatives visa can also be given to a parent of a minor child who is a South African citizen or permanent resident. The financial requirement falls away.
It is important to note that an applicant is not entitled to work on a relatives visa, unless special permission is given applied for and granted to an applicant.
