Study Permit South Africa
A study visa is intended for any applicant who wishes to study in South Africa at a learning institution which is registered with the Department of Education. It is ideal for primary school and university students. The duration of a study visa is dependent on the programme for which an applicant applies.
The holder of a study visa is entitled to work, but for no more than 20 hours per week. Work may also be authorized for those learners that are required to perform practical training as part of his or her studies.
A study visa is linked to an institution, so if an applicant no longer attends where they are studying, the learning institution must notify the Department of Home Affairs so that the study visa is cancelled.
