Alison TilleyI was eight months pregnant when my visa expired – delayed due to process complications. I was finding the Home Affairs Department to be deeply unpleasant as well as unhelpful to the point that I determined to find a lawyer who would take me on! I called around in a panic until I was put straight through to June who listened to my frantic story and calmly asserted that she could help. She quite literally held my hand through the whole ordeal.

Her comprehensive knowledge, calm and good humour was amazing! June even took me to the station for fingerprints, accompanied me when I was issued my court summons. She stayed with me the whole time and on the court date she was with me and worked her magic. I wouldn’t have made it through without her.

LISSA has even gone through the entire permanent residency application with me, and walked me through the whole process. June is an amazing lawyer, a fabulous person and someone who I now call a friend.

“June and her team at LISSA were extremely helpful in helping process my critical skills permanent residency application. Right from researching all the options for my residency, gathering all documentation required, getting required certifications and memberships in place, right down to submission and collection – they were on top of the ball all the way!”

June was recommended to us by one of my husband’s friends at a very desperate time for our family. I had been eligible for residency forKarimi Fondaumiere over a year and had spent a fortune with a migration company who had promised a smooth application.

Our experience with them had been far from smooth, with lots of confusion on how to apply as well as really poor communication. We had heard nothing back from home affairs for almost a year and all they advised was to continue waiting.

We went to June for a second opinion and she was incredible from the onset. She was very calm and confident which left us feeling quite comforted that we were in good hands. She assured us that as a lawyer she knew the law of migration better then anybody else and backed that up by providing clear feedback on our options and the process required. She then guided us through the process of finally a response from home affairs, and when we got unfair feedback she helped us appeal until eventually two years after I had applied, my residency was granted.

In just six months, through June we got results on two applications after waiting a year for just one. She was amazing. We use her for all of our migration requirements and have recommended her with great success to all our friends

During my visit to South Africa in 2014, it didn’t take long for me to realise that I wanted to start a life here. After contacting a number of immigration lawyers and consultants, several weren’t even aware of the new immigration laws that had recently been put in place at the time. June is both personable and professional and made the process of obtaining a Critical Skills work permit a breeze. I cannot recommend her services enough!

I am a British citizen who has lived in South Africa most of my life. Despite this, I have had ongoing problems with the Department of Home Affairs, who have sent me from pillar to post for the past 10 years.  When it became clear that I was never going to find resolution on my own, and as I was separated from my wife and young son, I consulted LISSA. I knew that it would take the skills of professionals to help me to resolve the dispute I had with Home Affairs, and I was desperate to return to my wife and 8 month old son – every day away from them was painful to us all. With hard work, professional service and world-class skills, LISSA reunited me with my family, and we will never be apart again. Thank you to LISSA!

‘I worked with June for the acquisition of my critical skills visa, the process was clearly explained and the hand-holding to obtain required documents made the process simple and easy. We now do all of our visa requirements with June, as it is reassuring to me as company director to work with an individual who can clearly explain and manage the sometimes complicated process of visa application in South Africa.’
